Rising Stars

Rising Stars is TCT's production program created especially for students in 1st–4th grade. Students rehearse and perform a complete musical while learning acting, singing, dancing, stage skills, and what it means to work together as a cast.

Productions are selected with younger performers in mind, making Rising Stars a great way to experience everything that goes into putting on a show in an age-appropriate and encouraging environment.

Rising Stars is open to students in 1st–4th grade. No previous theater experience is required, and students do not have to audition to participate.

Simply register for the production, and your child has a place in the cast!

Not at all! Rising Stars is designed to give young performers the opportunity to learn through the production process.

Some students join us with previous experience, while others are stepping onto a stage for the very first time. Our creative team teaches students throughout rehearsals and helps them develop the skills they need along the way.

No! Every student who registers for Rising Stars is automatically part of the cast.

Auditions are only for students who would like to be considered for a lead role. Students who choose not to audition will automatically be placed in the ensemble and will still participate fully in the production.

Choosing not to audition for a lead role does not mean missing out on the show - ensemble members are an important part of bringing the story to life!

Students interested in being considered for a lead role will have the opportunity to audition after registering for the production.

Audition information, preparation materials, and instructions will be provided to registered families. Auditioning does not guarantee a lead role; casting decisions are based on the needs of the production and each role.

Students who audition but are not cast in a lead role will still have their guaranteed place in the production as part of the ensemble.

That's completely fine! Auditioning for a lead role is optional.

Students who do not audition are automatically placed in the ensemble. They'll still rehearse, learn music and choreography, wear costumes, and perform as part of the full production.

For many first-time performers, the ensemble is a great place to begin!

Rising Stars is a full production experience, so consistent attendance is an important part of being in the cast.

Rehearsals are held every Monday and Friday from 4:00–6:00 PM throughout the rehearsal period. As performances approach, additional rehearsals may be required for Tech Week, and cast members are expected to participate in all scheduled performances.

Families will receive the complete rehearsal and performance schedule before registration so they can review any conflicts and make sure the commitment is a good fit.
